The project is a competition entry in a closed competition where Batteríið Architects were part of a team with TBL-Architects.
It involves a 66,000m2 expansion of the National University Hospital at Hringbraut, Reykjavík. The layout respects the old Hringbraut road and emphasizes the old hospital as the focal point. The proposal aims to keep walking paths short and building connections flexible. Buildings are low-rise to ensure good daylight in all departments. The appearance features light tones matching older buildings, with grass-covered roofs for an environmentally friendly look.
